What is Lead scoring?
Lead scoring is a method of ranking potential customers by how likely they are to buy, so sales teams focus on the most promising ones first.

Lead scoring, explained
Traditional lead scoring adds points for attributes and actions, such as budget, job title, pages visited or emails opened. AI-assisted scoring can also read free-text answers and conversations to judge intent. Scores should be explainable and reviewed regularly against actual outcomes, otherwise teams may chase the wrong leads. Scoring supports judgement; it does not replace a salesperson's conversation. Start simple, with a few clear signals, and refine as you learn which leads actually convert.
Example
A property lead who states a budget, a preferred area and a three-month timeline is scored higher and routed to a senior agent.
