Integration: An integration is a connection between two or more software systems so they share data or trigger actions automatically.

Integration, explained
Integrations remove copy-paste between tools. They can be built-in (a CRM's native connection to email), built with automation platforms, or custom-developed using APIs. Most AI automation projects are mainly integration work: getting the right data from the right system at the right time, and writing results back. Reliable integrations need error handling and monitoring so failures are noticed. Each integration should also have a named owner who knows what it does.

An integration between a booking system and WhatsApp sends each guest a confirmation and a reminder automatically.
