What is Webhook?
Webhook: A webhook is an automatic message one system sends to another when a specific event happens, such as a new order or a form submission.

Webhook, explained
Instead of repeatedly asking a system 'has anything changed?', a webhook pushes the information the moment it happens. Webhooks are common triggers for automations: a payment succeeds, a lead submits a form, a message arrives. They are fast and efficient, but the receiving system must be available and should verify that webhook messages are genuine. Logging each webhook received makes problems much easier to trace.
Example
When a customer pays for a workshop seat, the payment system sends a webhook that marks the registration as paid and triggers a confirmation email.
