Responsible AI, explained
In practice, responsible AI involves checking for bias in decisions that affect people, being open with customers when they are talking to an AI, protecting personal data, testing systems before and after launch, and keeping humans responsible for important decisions. It matters most in hiring, lending, healthcare, education and anything that affects people's rights or money. Responsible AI is part of good governance and builds trust with customers and staff.
Example
An HR team uses AI to summarise CVs against set criteria but requires a person to review every shortlist and checks results for bias.
