Human-in-the-loop, explained
Not every step needs review, but steps that affect customers, money, legal positions or people's opportunities usually should. A human-in-the-loop design defines where the review happens, who does it, what they check and how quickly. As confidence grows, review can move from every item to samples and exceptions. Corrections made by reviewers are valuable feedback for improving prompts and knowledge.
Example
An automation drafts replies to supplier disputes, but a finance officer approves each one before it is sent.
