Computer vision, explained
Computer vision models are trained on many labelled images to recognise patterns. Business uses include quality inspection on production lines, counting stock on shelves, reading number plates, checking documents and analysing footfall. Results depend on image quality, lighting and having enough examples of what you want to detect. Privacy rules apply when cameras capture people, so purpose and consent must be considered.
Example
A packaging plant uses a camera and a vision model to flag boxes with damaged labels before shipping.
